Team Foxtrot, from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), is run by a group of students from different disciplines, all focused on a common goal: to make practical, fully-autonomous aircraft – called UAVs - and compete with the best in the world. It was in 2018 when a group of brilliant, enthusiastic individuals joined hands and decided to design and build UAVs. As a result, our team was born and has been competing in national and international events ever since.
Currently, the team is divided into different technical and non-technical sub-teams, i.e., Automation, Imagery, Fabrication, Design, Documentation, and Media. All play a vital role in the success of the team. The Design team creates a CAD model design of the UAV based on the challenge's requirements. The Automation team oversees all the electronics and automates the UAV. The Imagery team handles all the software-related work, such as using AI for object detection. The Fabrication team, once the design and electronics are confirmed, begins transforming the design into a reality. In contrast, the documentation team records all the technical work completed by the sub-teams to submit to the challenge. The Media team works tirelessly to expand the team's reach and look out for viable sponsors and partners.

Moreover, the team believes in the process of disseminating knowledge. It has arranged various STEM sessions - physically and online - throughout Pakistan. Its objective is to spread engineering and UAV information wherever possible. The team aims to raise awareness about UAVs to improve Pakistan's economy and encourage their development by using them for agricultural spraying and aid relief missions during floods and earthquakes.
